Ed Miles
Fitness Coach - Doncaster
Biography
- MSc Strength & Conditioning
- BSc Sport Science
- Level 3 Personal Trainer
- L2 Rugby Union Coach
I got into training through my passion for rugby at a young age; I started going to the gym in order to get big and strong to aid my performance on the pitch.
This passion grew as I got older and as my dreams and opportunities began to slip away as a player, I matured along with my ambitions, I turned towards training and helping others.
The personal effect it had on me was that my confidence grew, my body shape changed, my self-esteem and focus increased whilst my daily fatigue levels dropped.
This led to me starting a Sports Science degree in order to gain a more scientific understanding of the human body and how it works during exercise, and then my MSc.

Hobbies and Interests
I still play rugby, both union and league, when I can but now more as a casual player rather than trying to make it as a pro.
Currently playing for Doncaster Phoenix and Doncaster Toll Bar.
I enjoy going to gigs and I am well known as the gym ‘Indie-head’ and most people hate it when I’m allowed on the gym speakers.
A few facts about me
- My favourite food is anything Mexican – fajitas, burritos, chilli con carne. The more spicy the better!
- I enjoy a craft ale from time to time especially at a gig. I enjoy Olympic weight lifting mainly because it is a challenging skill but it also gives me the power and energy demands that I need for rugby.
- When coaching clients Olympic lifting I love seeing them go from someone that may be a bit fearful of weightlifting to someone who can snatch, clean and press weight that they never thought they could whilst noticing the positive changes to their body.
