Biography

After 21 years as a Science Teacher I decided it was time for a career change. With my degree level knowledge of human biology, my teaching ability and a love of all things sport and fitness; becoming a Personal Trainer seemed the obvious choice.
After having my 3 children I began strength training and loved the way that this changed my body. I am now stronger, fitter and more confident than I ever was in my 20’s and 30’s. Consequently, I am very passionate to help others, particularly women of a similar age, discover the multiple physical and mental health benefits of training.

What type of training do you love?
I love both strength and conditioning training. I like lifting heavy weights and seeing progress as my strength increases. I enjoy proving that “girls can lift too!”
I equally enjoy pushing myself through high intensity conditioning sessions and also love a bit of plyometrics and speed training. I am determined to be able to run as fast as I can for as long as I can!
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
I play rugby union for Doncaster Demons who are currently in women’s league NC1.
I love walking and regularly drag the children out into the countryside at the weekend. I have completed both the Yorkshire 3 Peaks and the Lyke Wake Walk and am currently training for the National 3 Peaks this summer.
I have a love-hate relationship with running. I’m not too keen on the actual runs but love the feeling that you get afterwards! I try to run 2 or 3 times a week.
A few facts about me
- I have 3 amazing children, twin boys and a daughter.
- I danced as a child from the age of 3-18. Though I was never destined to become a ballerina, it did help me with my movement and coordination.
- I love fine wines and enjoy trying interesting and new wine from up and coming wine growing areas. All in moderation of course!
